William Lee Hankey Large Framed Oil Painting English Landscape with Sun dappled Trees with Buildings and Fields in the background. Lee Hankey is very much in the Impressionist School of painting. WILLIAM LEE HANKEY RWS.,RI.,ROI.,RE. British 1869-1952 "Findon, West Sussex” Oil on canvas, signed and framed Born in Chester where he commenced his studies he later moved to Paris to complete. He specialized in landscapes, harbour studies and figure subjects. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1893. A very successful artist in his lifetime Lee Hankey lived in France where he painted many of his pictures. He won many medals and his paintings are represented in collections worldwide. There was an exhibition of his work at Londons Walker Gallery in 1954 The paintings of William Lee Hankey have always been popular and have steadily and consistently increased in value over the years.
