Mid Century figurative painting of a pensive reclining nude figure with moody, mid-century color palette in the background. Attributed to Elmer S. Albritton, unsigned (American, 1922-1988) Slashes in paint texture part of the artistic process. Unframed. Image, 28"H x 22"W.
Elmer served as a naval officer in WW II on a mine sweeper and Grace remained in the U.S. Elmer's career and furthering education as a patent attorney took him to Washington,DC and Los Angeles and then Marin, California. His wife Grace helped Elmer hang many a painting at State Bar Art Shows and hosted Japanese exchange students for many summers while they attended College of Marin.
