Bouchéne was a Russian artist and costume and set designer for theatre, opera and ballet. Primarily working in Paris, his notable clients included Serge Diaghilev and Anna Pavlova. He also worked for haute couture houses, such as Lucien Lelong, Jean Patou, Nina Ricci and Lanvin, as well as in interior decoration for Maison Jansen.
