Wallace Bassford was an American painter and illustrator, known particularly for his floral still-lifes and portraits. Born in St. Louis, Missouri he attended the St. Louis School of Fine Art and was a member of the St.Louis Art Guild, but lived and worked also in New York City and in Provincetown, Massachusetts. His work has been exhibited at galleries across the United States, including the St.Louis Art Museum, San Francisco Museum of Art, Ogunquit Art Center, the Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Wallace Bassford
Wallace Bassford was an American painter and illustrator, born in 1900 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He attended the Saint Louis School of Fine Art and was a member of St. Louis Artists' Guild. He also lived in New York City, Provincetown, Massachusetts and Palm Beach. His works were exhibited at galleries and museums across the United State including the Saint Louis Art Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art. Bassford was known particularly for his floral still lifes and female portrait figures. Wallace Bassford died in 1998.
