This circa 1960's oil on linen abstract expressionist painting in colorful pastel colors is by West Coast Abstract Expressionist painter Adine Stix (1909-1987). Stix studied Art at Skidmore College and worked with her husband Hugh Stix to develop the New York Artist's Gallery in the 1930s. The work was painted in her Pyramid Lake, Nevada studio. The studio was built with the proceeds from the 1961 film "The Misfits", which was filmed on her ranch.
