Norah is a unique oil on canvas painting by contemporary artist Guy Oberson, dimensions are 160 cm × 130 cm (63 × 51.2 in).
The artwork is signed, sold unframed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Because of how the oil paint work creates a transparency effect, this portrait of a woman has an unreal dreamlike atmosphere. The woman's intense gaze, combined with the painting's very light colour scheme, gives the portrait depth. Despite being accurately depicted, her face looks young. The painting's texture is textured with a multitude of vertical streaks that draw the eye downward to the model's hands while the white dress barely stands out against the background's similar colour. The ghostly-looking woman's hands, which are painted in a more abstract style, are also made more noticeable by the black sleeves with patterns.
Guy Oberson doesn't outline his works; instead, he builds them up from a collection of lines. Through this method, subjects appear when viewed from a distance and vanish right before the observer's eyes as they get closer. Black chalk is blurred by the artist in a variety of vertical streaks, which obstructs the subject's perception and slows down the work's immediate interpretation.
