Early historical portrait in the style of William Aikman believed to be of David Carnegie, 4th Earl of Northesk, a Scottish peer and politician. The work features the central figure in political garb holding a scroll. The scroll reads: Information for Earle of Northelk Against the Lady Killphans and her Sons. Titled and dated on the reverse. Currently hung in a carved gold frame. Dimensions Without Frame: H 49 in. x W 40 in.
