Naturalistic portrait of Jim Derrick by the artist Lou Benesch. The portrait features a central figure clad in a cowboy hat, nice work shirt, and a gold bracelet leaning against a post with the logo of Riodosa Downs. Signed by the artist in the front lower left corner. The plaque in the center front of the frame reads: "Jim Derrick, Automobiles, Rodeo, Quarterhorses, Carlsbad, New Mexico, President of Riodoso Downs." Currently hung in a carved, light wood frame.
Dimensions Without Frame: H 30 in. x W 24.5 in.
Artist Biography: Louis (Lou) Benesch, born in 1915, was an artist who was well known for his portraits of Native Americans living in the Four Corners region of Arizona. He passed away in 2002.
