Anjolaoluwa Arike Fatunmbi is an artist based in the southwest city of Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria. As she advanced in age with a broader exposure to the vicissitudes of life and a deeper understanding of how human nature transcends and reinvents in a constantly changing circle, her works are consciously impacted by her cultural roots and personal experiences. Arike’s textile art is composed of intricate compositions of layers of fabric, flowery patterns, and detailed attention to the markings of the female features. Her pieces are reflective of her personality as she loves to incorporate vibrant colors and whimsical designs.
With her early start in the Art scene, Arike has been able to apprentice under renowned masters in the Art sector like the globally acclaimed proponent of Contemporary Black Art, Oluwole Omofemi. About Artist
Ayandare Adeniran, Ayanmuyiwa (born 1991) is an Artist who hails from Ogbomosho, Oyo state, Nigeria. At his early stage of life, his artistic talents sprang up and his parent helped to develop them by providing him with what they understood he needed by buying drawing books, crayons, and watercolors among others to help his creative skills.
After his primary and secondary education, he received a Nigeria Certificate on Education (NCE) from a prestigious college; the Federal College of Education (SPECIAL), Oyo, where he studied Fine and Applied Arts.
Musa Ibrahim was the first practicing Artist who helped Ayandare in his Artistic career which was during a compulsory Industrial Training program for students in the Fine Arts department. I saw my pains, anxiety, lies, and burdens staring at me.
I hated the fact that I might be blind.
My reality has been bound, I realized the mirror might be deceiving; false info I am receiving.
I turned to society due to my uncertainty to be a mirror and it said, you are too kind to be real, too beautiful to serve God, too smart for the Gospel, and too holy for us.
You are lagging behind leaving no mark behind.
Then I turned to the Word and I am reflected for who I am, not perfected for the world. I might be flawed yet there was room for correction.
