Oil on Canvas. Italian School of the 18th century.
The elegant gentleman is pictured with several tomes resting on the piano in front of him, on the backs whose authors are read; the name of Paolo Valcarenghi, a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Pavia in the 18th century, stands out in particular.
The man portrayed is thus meant to emphasize his belonging to the world of Medicine.
Restored and re-framed, the painting is presented in a reconstructed frame with antique elements and equipped on the upper side with a mid-20th-century, working floodlight.
