"Poppies" is a vertical, oil painting, painted directly from life, using classical techniques. A grouping of white daisies and red Poppies arranged in a narrow, glass vase, centrally placed, near the edge of the surface. Behind, a small grouping of red tomatoes. All against a dark background. Light reflects and shadows cast through the translucent vase.
Amy Florence is a London-born artist working out of her studio in Florence, Italy. She trained at the Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence where she went on to teach the advanced painting and drawing programs for 5 years. In November 2014 she set up Studio Donatello. Now, she divides her time between painting and commissions.
