About the Item

Anthony Mastromatteo re-introduced himself to the Grenning Gallery with his 2023 exhibition "Hello, My Name Is: Anthony Mastromatteo." The works included in the show were incredibly intricate trompe l'oeil oil paintings ranging in size from 7 x 5 inches to 48 x 36 inches. In supplement to the exhibition, Mastromatteo painted 10 pictographs on "Hello My Name Is" nametags and put them in plastic sleeves one would clip on their person for any kind of large function. There is always a bit of tongue and cheek in Mastromatteo's work, and it shows in these little vignettes. In this nametag, Mastromatteo paints two stems but only one cherry - the fruit on the right is replaced by an equally sized cartoon bomb going off in miniature. The term "Cherry Bomb" that the pictograph represents has been so re-used in pop culture—as make-up brands, musicians and chefs have used the term—that the original meaning has become outdated and seemingly forgotten. This painting on paper can be wearable art, or mounted in a frame. Inquire for our further suggestions on framing. Painting dimensions: 2.5 x 3.5 inches Dimensions in the plastic holder: 4 x 5.5 inches Artist Bio The arts have been an integral part of Anthony Mastromatteo’s life for over 25 years. A Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Princeton University in 1992 led to a five year position at Christie’s auction house in New York City in the American Paintings, 19th Century Paintings and Maritime Paintings and Objects departments. As his exposure to the art world expanded he began studying the practice of art after work at the Art Student’s League in New York City. In 1997 he made the transition to full-time art study at the Water Street Atelier, a school of art practice based on the methodology of the French Academy and the French atelier system of the 18th and 19th centuries, under the tutelage of Jacob Collins. In 2002 he finished his studies and made the transition to working as a professional artist. He has worked solely as an artist since that time. He currently has representation with galleries in New York City, Los Angeles and Cleveland. Anthony currently resides with his wife and daughter, Stella and Alba, in Akron, Ohio.

Cherries - original realism still life painting - contemporary Art
Located in London, Chelsea
This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. A feast of form and color, Cherries by Heinz Schönhammer is a celebration of pure, gleaming abundance. The canvas overflows with clusters of ripe, red fruit, each cherry painted with a mirror-like sheen that catches and reflects light in dazzling variation. The repetition of round forms and taut skin creates a rhythm that pulses with life and ripeness. Schönhammer’s hyperrealist style turns the surface into a field of sensual delight—light glances across glossy surfaces while stems curve like elegant calligraphy. Deep burgundies, bright crimsons, and inky purples intermingle, lending the composition a velvety richness that’s as tactile as it is visual. Cherries is a vibrant ode to color, excess, and nature’s indulgence, elevated to visual poetry through masterful control of light and tone. This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. Artist Biography: Heinz Schönhammer was born in Vienna, Austria. After completing his fine art studies, he sought artistic inspiration across Europe, traveling to the Netherlands and Germany before eventually settling in Turin, Italy. There, he established significant connections with notable Italian artists such as Antonio Carena, Lucio Fontana, and Piero Ruggeri...

Sean Farrell, "Lit Up Life", 12x9 Red Cherry Fruit Still Life Oil Painting
Located in Saratoga Springs, NY
"Lit Up Life", is a 12x9 oil painting on board by artist Sean Farrell. Featured is an arrangement of freshly picked red cherries overflowing a polished gold metal bowl. The graceful direction of the cherry stems create movement and flow in this harmonious piece. Strong shadows cast onto the linen cloth underneath. Rich tones of orange and reds contrast the green stems. About the artist: “As I paint at my easel each day in the studio, I approach creating art with the idea of continually developing my artistic understanding and enhancing my personal expression,” writes Sean Farrell of his philosophy of life as an artist. Farrell, who grew up in a small town where there were few opportunities for formal art education, began drawing on his own at a young age and through intense study of the great artists he found in library books began to nurture his innate talent. He writes of his younger years, “Looking at great paintings always excited me and by visiting museums [and] studying numerous art books…I gradually began to increase my artistic understanding,” which led Farrell to teach himself to paint with oils in the late 1980’s and then eventually to attend a painting workshop in New Mexico in the early 1990’s where he met numerous professional artists, who inspired him to a full-time artistic career. Internationally, the prestigious Florence Biennale invited the artist to participate and exhibit work in Florence, Italy. NYARTS Magazine covered the exhibition and in their published review gave the following praise to the works of Sean Farrell… “Works deserving special attention was Sean Farrell’s exquisitely painted flower and fruit arrangements. Eye-catching with his use of dramatically bold colors mixed with delicate detail in a very modern old-master style.” Choosing to travel extensively throughout Italy and also to other regions of Europe over attending art school, the artist has studied and learned from the great master works in the history of art. His paintings reveal his affection for the 17th century Italian and Dutch painters while still remaining truly unique. Mr. Farrell’s works are distinctive for their elegant and graceful compositions, his rich jewel like color, and an elevated sensitivity to the beautiful nuances of light. His works reveal a master’s touch and a quiet ease. Sean Farrell is internationally recognized and a highly collected artist. He is known for his vivid and luminous oil paintings...
