About the Item
This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. In Fruit Splash, Heinz Schönhammer transforms a moment of movement into a dazzling spectacle of colour and texture. Painted in oil on canvas, the scene bursts with energy as raspberries, redcurrants, and sliced oranges tumble through crystalline water. The painting captures that precise, exhilarating instant when fruit meets liquid, frozen in time yet full of motion.
The artist’s mastery of realism is undeniable, yet the piece also carries a sense of theatricality—water arcs and splashes across the composition like a choreographed performance. Schönhammer’s attention to detail allows each berry and citrus slice to appear almost tangible, their surfaces glistening with freshness. The interplay of translucent water and solid fruit creates a striking visual tension, drawing the viewer in to examine every droplet and ripple.
The colour palette is bold and dynamic—radiant reds and warm oranges set against the rich blue of the background, with touches of bright green from scattered leaves. This vibrant contrast intensifies the sense of freshness and vitality, while the reflective surface below adds depth and dimension. The painting is both a study in precision and a celebration of sensory delight, perfectly balancing control with spontaneity.
Artist Biography:
Heinz Schönhammer was born in Vienna, Austria. After completing his fine art studies, he sought artistic inspiration across Europe, traveling to the Netherlands and Germany before eventually settling in Turin, Italy. There, he established significant connections with notable Italian artists such as Antonio Carena, Lucio Fontana, and Piero Ruggeri—broadening his artistic horizons and influence.
In 1975, Schönhammer relocated with his family to Meran in South Tyrol, where the breathtaking Alpine landscape became a powerful source of inspiration. It was there that he refined his distinctive style, which blends photorealism with a deeply personal pursuit of harmony and beauty.
Schönhammer is renowned for his mastery of Hyperrealism, a genre that demands extraordinary attention to detail and an analytical eye. His work reflects a deep enthusiasm for the aesthetics of balance and tranquility, making his paintings emotionally resonant and visually arresting.
Over the course of his career, Schönhammer has received widespread acclaim from both critics and collectors. His work has been mentioned in major art journals such as Arte Italiana per il Mondo and Bolaffi, as well as in encyclopaedias highlighting artists of international relevance.
He has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across Europe and the United States, including in Vienna, London, New York, Los Angeles, Salzburg, Düsseldorf, and Dallas. Today, Heinz Schönhammer continues to live and work in his native Vienna, where he remains dedicated to his artistic practice.

A feast of form and color, Cherries by Heinz Schönhammer is a celebration of pure, gleaming abundance. The canvas overflows with clusters of ripe, red fruit, each cherry painted with a mirror-like sheen that catches and reflects light in dazzling variation. The repetition of round forms and taut skin creates a rhythm that pulses with life and ripeness.
Schönhammer’s hyperrealist style turns the surface into a field of sensual delight—light glances across glossy surfaces while stems curve like elegant calligraphy. Deep burgundies, bright crimsons, and inky purples intermingle, lending the composition a velvety richness that’s as tactile as it is visual.
Cherries is a vibrant ode to color, excess, and nature’s indulgence, elevated to visual poetry through masterful control of light and tone. This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online.

Lemon - original realism still life painting - contemporary Art
Located in London, Chelsea
This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online.
With astonishing clarity and kinetic grace, Lemon by Heinz Schönhammer captures the exhilarating moment citrus meets water. The scene bursts to life as glowing yellow slices plunge into a pristine glass, scattering droplets and swirls in high-definition precision. Every splash and bubble is suspended in time, rendered in oil with such finesse that the viewer feels the chill and fizz of impact.
Schönhammer’s technical prowess invites awe—his ability to manipulate paint into liquid transparency and refracted light is nothing short of masterful. The luminous oranges glow from within, while the glass shimmers with crisp refractions and dynamic shadows. The contrast between the stark, moody background and the effervescent motion within the glass electrifies the composition.
Lemon becomes a study in energy and clarity, elevating a simple subject into an extraordinary meditation on light, texture, and immediacy. This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online.
