Sophia is a Fine Art Contemporary Wildlife and Nature Artist, specialising in high quality oil paintings. Known for her powerfully evocative paintings created through vibrant colours, light and intricate detail, with some of her art embellished with 24ct Gold and Silver leaf and it has been said many times to have “a spiritual feel to it”. The creative journey began at Winchester school of Art where she completed her BA specialising in Textile design. This led to a job as a textile designer for various big-name high-street stores, designing soft furnishings and ceramics. James has been a professional Artist since 1998. Producing oil paintings from Bolton studio(UK) he has created a unique vision of Landscape painting. He has established his reputation through a consistent determination to make art. Trusting instincts which result in emotive experiences for him and the viewer. His work emerges from three preoccupations, light, landscape and the nature of paint, these combine to result in paintings that link tradition and a modern visual experience. James values direct observation, as a traditional way to record the Landscape but is also drawn to communicating the interplay between what we see and our imagination, forging bonds between experience and mythology. His process does not normally involve preparation, sketching or photography, he finds that inviting the natural movement of oil paint to suggest the direction of a work, in an intuitive way, provides the most exciting challenge. James has exhibited widely in the UK and at numerous acclaimed international Art Fairs. Recently his personal interest in the art of Thomas Moran led to an ambitious Arts Council funded project and included a two week road trip in Yellowstone, National Park, The Teton Range and Green River(Wyoming USA) . Emily Persson is a Melbourne based artist who has been creating oil paintings with a palette knife for three years. Emily is a multi-generational artist with roots in Brisbane, Australia.
Although an avid hobbyist painter her whole life, Emily found her style and her new career in 2016 when she began painting landscape, seascape and floral still-life paintings inspired by her surrounds in Queensland. Emily decided in late 2017 that she would give away a successful corporate office job and pursue her life long dream of becoming a full time artist. She relocated to South Yarra in Melbourne and immediately began exhibiting across Australia at galleries such as the Moree Gallery and Satch & Co. Emily participated in many group exhibitions and fundraisers in 2018 including multiple shows in Melbourne, New South Wales and Queensland.
