About

Paul Wackers continues to play with notions of the familiar, creating visual environments with recognizable yet ultimately unknowable objects. This can be found even in a small scale painting such as this, where the plant and vessel are clear, but the yellow and black object and patterned backgrounds are much more ambiguous to the view. Paul Wackers was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1978. He graduated with his BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC with a degree in Fine Arts, and earned his MFA in Paintings from the San Francisco Art Institute. Wackers has exhibited nationally and internationally in Belgium, Denmark, Canada, Peru, San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and New York, NY.
