Circa 1950

About the Item

Beautiful nature painting by Nature artist William Muller-Lux (1911-2007). The work is nicely framed and titled “Mushrooms from the Moggollon Rim.” It is signed lower right “Muller-Lux” and is in excellent condition. The painting measures 16 x 20 and the frame is 21 ½ x 25 3/4 inches. William Muller-Lux (1911-2007) was a Bohemian/American portrait, figure, landscape, still life and animal painter. His paintings are done exclusively in a realist and impressionist style. He painted in these styles because he was most interested in the objects he saw, whether they be figurative paintings and drawings, landscapes, still lifes, florals, or animal paintings. His preferred mediums were oils and pastels, but in line drawings of the human figure he used pen and ink and Japanese brush. Muller-lux saw the artist as a sort of guide to a fast-paced society to point out the beauty in nature. The artist ended up in Payson, Arizona where he passed away in 2007.
