About the Item
Brand New! Unique silver gelatin print (photogram made sans enlarger); Mixed process multiple exposure with ice, sand, flowers, and more. "Winds of Change" series. Printed in April 2023 on Fomatone Mg 133 (a beautiful chamois paper, made by Foma), which isn’t super apparent from the jpgs. [Please note that the scanner had a hard time reading this textured paper accurately, so the highlights are actually much whiter than they appear.]
I began making photograms with alternate light sources in 2020, due to having an unfinished darkroom in my apartment at the time of the shutdown. 3 years and 6+ bodies of work later, and not only do I make the bulk of my post-covid income via the photograms (via teaching remotely and art sales), but they have also received quite a few awards.
I think of my photograms more in terms of sculpture and/or printmaking, as I work my materials a bit between (and sometimes during) multiple exposures. However, they are alternate process landscape photographs (literally made with the land in some capacity).
[I also specialize in "traditional" (yet abstract) black-and-white landscape photographs. Which is primarily what I was known for before covid.]
