About the Item
One-of-a-kind handmade print - made by hand in my darkroom - without the use of an enlarger. Mixed process multiple exposure with flowers, sand, glitter and more; exposed via firework led. From my multi-award-winning "Metamorphosis" series.
I think of my photograms more as sculptures than anything else, as I build them up layer by layer. This print was one of the first more complex photograms made with sand, in November 2021. I think of all of my images as subconscious self-portraits (or natural equivalents if you will), as well as what they are - and what else they can be. I never even know the orientation of my photograms until the titles come to me, it's an organic process (and a lot of fun to do, as well as to teach).
