About the Item

This trailblazing in-camera multiple exposures of New York buildings with the moon was done in 1972. It's not just an image that pushes the boundaries of visual imagery but it is a tour-de-force of technical mastery. It deconstructs the whole notion of landscape or cityscape photography. Funk departs from naturalism and invents the world and Sci-Fi photography We see images like this today 50 years after but they are created in photoshop. The color will vary from monitor to monitor. Signed, dated, numbered 3/15 and titled lower right. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. That's the easy way. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time-Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, New York Magazine and Life Magazine among others.
