About the Item
Veteran Street Photographer Mitchell Funk encountered a newly painted wall in Queens, New York. Next to the wall was a newly washed red car. This was red meat subject matter for Funk who has a tradition of using creating bold, graphic and powerful color photographs. Using a wide-angle lens with the proper lighting Funk was able to snap a very original image. This archival color photograph by fine art photographer Mitchell Funk is signed, numbered 3/15, dated and titled and lower right recto. printed later, Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper.

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
