About the Item

Archival pigment print Signed and numbered, verso 11 x 16.5 inches (Edition of 15) 24 x 36 inches (Edition of 10) 40 x 60 inches (Edition of 7) This photograph is offered by ClampArt, located in New York City. Nick Turner is an American artist born in Boston in 1983. He was raised in the countryside of Maine where he was home-schooled until the age of fifteen, and then moved to the South of France. There, he attended a French high school before moving to Toulouse, where he passed his international baccalaureate. Immediately after receiving his diploma, Turner moved to Paris. He later relocated to New York City to attend the Parsons School of Design, where he received a bachelor’s degree in illustration. Turner’s interests lay deeply rooted in nature and the human condition in relation to it. Though he works with various mediums including painting, photography, and collage, the subject matter remains the same. His deeply personal relationship with nature and his strong interest in horses and surfing are juxtaposed against family history motifs and vast empty landscapes from around the globe. There is a play between Turner’s individual experiences in life as an artist and the larger dialogue about society and man’s place in the natural world.
