Exhibition: The Photographer in the Frame, Don't Take Pictures, Online (G), 2019; Published in She Shoots Film Issue 3: Metamorphosis about the work: "Before cancer, I had long red hair like a mermaid, and within a few weeks of treatment, it started to fall out. I shaved my head and watched myself transform into a different person: not only physically but also mentally, and now, when I look in a mirror, I see me, who I’m meant to be." Lisa Toboz. Lisa Toboz is a self-taught artist from Pittsburgh, USA using mostly Polaroid photography. Her work explores self-portraiture and the forgotten landscapes in and around the rust-belt region, but her most recent project, “Dwell,” navigates the territory of chronic illness and healing. She has exhibited internationally, and her first zine, “The Long Way Home,” was most recently published by Static Age UK. Member of Film Shooters Collective and the 12.12 Project.

Long exposure figurative Photography: 'Illuminations No. 53'
By Florence Montmare
Located in New York, NY
'Illuminations started in 2002 when a relationship was slowly falling apart. While trying to save it, we rented a large stylish apartment in Stockholm, and then later one in Arles, France, hoping that a change of scene would have a posi-tive effect. The new spaces made the distance between us more acute, and the inevitable break even more obvious. The ritual of making one photograph each night became crucial to me. I left the camera shutter open for 3 to 8 hours in a darkened bedroom, and as the morning light arrived I interrupted the exposure. It is a private journal, documenting time and memory, where present meets past.' Born in Vienna to Swedish and Greek parents and raised in Stockholm, Florence Montmare has an MBA in Design Management from Linnaeus University, Sweden and studied at the School of Visual Arts. A graduate of International Center of Photography, New York, she collaborated with artist Sam Samore...

Turning from the Light
By Sarah Hadley
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This image is printed in an edition of 7, but comes in larger and smaller sizes. Each image is printed on archival paper, signed and numbered. Statement: This image of What I Remember is from Sarah Hadley's series Story Lines, which explores the female interior landscape. The series was inspired by the French New Wave films of the 60’s, which were shot in black and white on the street and which often portrayed the subconscious thoughts and feelings of ordinary women. These photo collages pay homage to the surrealists who first employed the technique of conjoining unrelated images to create startling and thought-provoking connections. Using backdrops...

Her-Untitled 2. Abstract figurative color limited edition photograph
Located in Miami Beach, FL
Her-Untitled 2, 2018 by Ying Chen From the Her series Archival pigment print Image size: 24 in. H x 20 in. W Edition of 5 + 1AP Unframed This is a photo contemporary collage project based on modern art. Greatly influenced by natural figures and artificial textures. I love to collect black and white photos of female portraits, cutting out the parts and stripping them from the original context, combining them with the abstract design figure, to get a new composition. This project is about 'she', every single piece has a unique female image, and each composition has a different character. Mysterious women are always a very attractive point to me. Ideally, behind every independent female figure, I want the audience to see a gentle but strong female image. Its basic sense is to make her seem to have life, when she smiles or looks up, every move is gentle and beautiful. "Memory" is another word I would like to mention in this project. Behind every one of my works, there is a memory of different-sometimes or that one day. It almost mirrors my time, my thoughts, and my personality. like a quote from Kurt Cobain's journals "I use bits...
