About the Item
This beautiful old tools photography was done by Matt McKee as part of the old tools series he did from 2016.
This print is part of an edition of 30 and come rolled in a tube signed by Matt with a certificate of authenticity.
"From as early as I can remember, old tools, in the bottom of a drawer or tool box, spoke to me much more than the brand new ones. Each scuff and ding, the patina of old dirt and grease, even their very shape, tells a story that started with someone deciding that a tool must be created to solve some situation.
An old tool tells stories about the hands that wielded it. Whether it is old and worn or lovingly restored to its former glory, it speaks to a history of use and usefulness.
It may be only in my head, but every time I pick one up, I can feel the steady hands of crafts people and trades people who, before me, made their mark on the world with these tools."

The Sweet Blasts! Portfolio represents my own apprehension with our intersections of technology with natural systems. The series is not meant to be anti- or pro- anything.
In my mind, it encompasses everything from genetic manipulations to cyber connectivity. Our impact on processes and evolutions that have been tested and processed over millennia are now being altered at a violent pace.
And, our solutions to the problems that we are solving immediately will ultimately have an impact that will be felt far into the future.
Yet, violent change is not new and is a part of the galactic system...

SEAL ROCKS WAVES #27 New South Wales 2012
By Jay Mark Johnson
Located in Santa Monica, CA
This large format, color-photograph belongs to Jay Mark Johnson's wave series - the images from which depict the rhythmic cycling and recycling of oceanfront waves as recorded on remote coastlines around the world--in Hawaii, Florida, California, the Caribbean, Great Britain, Australia and South Africa.
These artworks belong to the artist’s ongoing inquiry into the possibilities for timeline photography. For this decades-long project Johnson employs an unconventional camera system to produce seamless delineated renderings of familiar events as they occur over time. The results present an altered view of our surroundings.
Artworks from Johnson’s timeline series have been exhibited extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. They can be found in the permanent collections of the Bundestag (German Parliament) in Berlin, the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie at Karlsruhe, the Frederick R.
