About the Item
Utopian Foyer II, from Richard Heeps series A Short History of Milan, which began as a special project for the 2018 Affordable Art Fair Milan. It was well received and the artwork has become popular with art buyers around the world. Richard continues to add to the collection as he frequently returns to Milan to make new work for the series.
There is a reoccurring linear, structural theme throughout the series, capturing the Milanese use of materials in design such as glass, metal, wood and stone. "I have a strong connection to Northern Italy from printing my books in Verona, and I have visited Milan to exhibit many times. The work here is a series I have been sketching ideas for for a while, and I am excited to release my first Italian body of work, capturing the spirit of Milan." It sits alongside his Hong Kong, Vietnam and New York series of street photography, which depict the colour, fabric and structure of cities with distinct style.
This artwork is a limited edition of 25 gloss photographic print from negative, dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame fitted with anti-reflective UV70% glass.

Frank Schott was born in Germany where he spends nights shooting the great bands and musicians of the 80s, while attending the Academy of Arts in Cologne under Professor Arno Jansen.
His early photography work focuses on beauty and fashion, later evolving to include conceptual landscapes and large scale environments, while never losing the eye for details.
In 1998 Frank moves to California. He draws inspiration from the epic landscapes and distinct architecture of the American West as much as from his travels abroad.
