About the Item
An original contemporary wheat pasted photograph from the artist's series "No Plan for the Future".
This work is hung inside the gallery space at The Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology and a portion of all sales from the exhibition including this piece will go to benefit the Center which offers after school art programming
This particular work is an edition of three, signed and numbered 1 of 3 on the reverse. The work comes framed in an archival frame presentation.
No Plan for the Future began as an engagement with the public via instagram. Mancuso and D’Auria staged America’s iconic foods meeting their bitter end. The series of instagram posts and commentary began just after the 2016 election and eventually manifested into an installation of wheat pasted photography and sculpture. These sugary disasters captured and installed, echo the political climate of uneasiness as well as the role of social media in adding to the dissemination of unrest and misinformation.

Installed in the West Wing Guest Room Corridor are works from Biff Henrich’s series The Structure of Things (Part 1). All of the photographic images presented were taken by the artist at night under moonlight, sometimes in near complete darkness. In many ways, the camera equipment was the first to “see” what is actually a nocturnal image, not fully visible to Henrich until he was back in the studio. There is a palpable quiet and haunting stillness in these images as well as a surreal quality thanks to the quality of light, reminiscent of Magritte’s “Empire of...

The unseen need not be lost.
Looking past the obvious and focusing on the lesser-known perspective introduces a parallel universe. Through using domestic objects and the human form in our environment, I work to orchestrate unique visions that are meticulously balanced in the ultimate pursuit of equilibrium. My goal is to inspire all those who see my work to begin looking at the world around them in a new way, evolving their view to uncover the undiscovered beauty in everyday things.
