Bruno Bisang, the Swiss fashion photographer born in Ascona in 1952, is renowned for his elegant and timeless imagery. Trained at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, he began his freelance career in 1979 and went on to work in major fashion hubs like Milan, Paris, and New York. His photographs have graced the pages of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and GQ, while luxury brands such as Chanel, Cartier, and Guerlain have commissioned his campaigns. Known for a purist, often black-and-white aesthetic, Bisang’s style blends intimacy with refined glamour. A distinctive hallmark of his practice is his use of Polaroids—not just as test shots, but as collaborative keepsakes signed by his models. With several books and international exhibitions to his name, Bisang stands as a key figure in contemporary fashion photography, balancing commercial appeal with artistic depth.
Bruno Bisang was born in 1952 and spent much of his youth in Ascona, a picturesque little town in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. When he was 19, he attended the School of Applied Arts for Photography in Zurich, which was followed by a photographic apprenticeship. Since 1979, Bruno Bisang has worked as a freelance photographer, first in Zurich and then in Milan and Munich. Now, he works between Milan, New York, Zurich, and Paris for a renowned clientele.
