Le Club 55 - Crowd in St. Tropez's famous Beach Bar, Fine Art Photography, 2024

2024

About the Item

A group of stylish young people at the famous 'Le Club 55', photographed by David Yarrow in 2024. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. This Work by David Yarrow is a tribute to Patrice de Colmont and the legendary Le Club 55 on Pampelonne Beach near St. Tropez. Yarrow's admiration for Patrice extends beyond the privilege of shooting at this iconic club. It is rooted in Patrice’s tireless dedication to maintaining the unique vibe of Le Club 55. Patrice’s effortless charm and insouciance permeate the club, honoring its origins. In 1955, Roger Vadim and his film crew, while shooting "And God Created Woman," mistook the driftwood furniture arranged by Patrice’s father for a public restaurant, leading to the birth of Le Club 55. The film's lead, Brigitte Bardot, soon to become the world's most famous woman, made it her base camp. Le Club 55 embodies an indulgent yet unbottled nonchalance. While many destination venues are eventually spoiled by a clientele seeking visibility and status, Le Club 55 in Pampelonne retains its effortless and visceral authenticity. This preservation of genuine charm is a testament to the club’s sovereign nature and self-policed atmosphere. Nestled in the idyllic French Riviera, Le Club 55 exudes a sense of timelessness and deference to the past, reminiscent of the traditions upheld in Augusta, Georgia. Although the clientele may differ, the guiding principle of honoring history is shared. David Yarrow's work captures the essence of this storied location. His photographs tell a compelling story of people protecting their legacy, their beach, and their club. Through his lens, the timeless spirit and unique charm of Le Club 55 are immortalized, reflecting its enduring appeal and the careful stewardship of Patrice and his daughter Camille de Colmont. David Yarrow is a British fine art photographer and one of the world's most spectacular and best-selling nature photographers. Visual storytelling is his craft, and large-format monochrome prints are his medium. Through elaborately staged settings, Yarrow conjures the magic of the great American history, from the Wild West to Route 66. In his wildlife photography, he captures the planet's beauty. Majestic lions, sleek panthers, and free-roaming buffalos populate his works, trumped only by the female bombshells Yarrow places beside them. While highlighting the untamed side of supermodels such as Cara Delevingne or Cindy Crawford, Yarrow portrays the wild beasts in the most human way possible. This photograph travels to Londons past and it's gritty streets of the 1920s. This roaring twenties in the UK saw material advances in technology and science, but it will also be remembered as a decade when women found equality and their sexuality was celebrated. It was an era where grit and glamour forged an unlikely alchemy. The historic dockyards of Chatham offer a strong visual canvas on which to tell stories and are contrasted by Cara Delevignes glamorous figure in a flowing white and silver gown...
