About the Item
John Casado's career includes every aspect of the commercial communication world. Among his most noted work is the initial trademark and image for NEW LINE CINEMA, ESPRIT and MACINTOSH. As a result of his relationship with ESPRIT, John Casado changed careers to become a photographer. His work has appeared in international magazines such as "Mirabella", "GQ", "Elle", "Interview" and "Harper's Bazaar" and has been featured in Axis Magazine (Japan), Zoom Magazine, Sur La Terre, Victim (Italy) and B+W Magazine (Australia). His fine art career started with a painting exhibition at the Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco, which was in conjunction with a Man Ray show. His first photography exhibition followed at the Xibit Gallery, Los Angeles in 1994.
John Casado's fine art photography is most often associated with his unique Interpretation of the figure, in his elegant black and white series of nudes. His work is included in the permanent collections of New Orlean’s Museum of Art, and the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Photography.

John Casado
John Casado is an American graphic designer, artist and photographer. He made his name in advertising and design where he created the branding for New Line Cinema, Esprit and Macintosh computer. Casado's work in the music industry won him cult status and received a Grammy Award for design. In 1984, he mounted a show of abstract paintings (alongside the work of Man Ray) at the Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco. One indication that we have truly entered a new era of creativity are the photographs of John Casado. His nudes reveal new attitudes and new visions that stamp him firmly as an artist who differs from his predecessors of the past 170 years. In the past two centuries, from the earliest days of photography, the nude has evolved slowly, but there is now a decided change.
