About the Item
Inspired by the drama of chiaroscuro painting by Caravaggio, Mitchell Funk captures figures on the steps of Bryant Park in Manhattan. Unified by the late golden rays of the sun and their geographic location, the figures remain apart from one another, seeming lost in their private worlds. This pioneering image was taken 52 years ago but still seems avant grade.
The photograph is signed, dated and numbered 3/15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
