Certainly one of the most iconic Vitali’s photograph. This piece was firstly shown at The Venice Biennale in 2001 curated by Harald Szeeman and it is present in the Guggenheim collection NY as well in the UBS art collection, among others. It is an edition of 9 - the entire edition was sold out long ago, it is the only one available at the moment.
Vitali began his series of beaches in the mid-1990s, later expanding his scenes to include pools, ski resorts, discotheques, piazzas, and other tourist and leisure sites around the world. In voyeuristic works such as Rosignano Dawn, Vitali achieves a balance between interpersonal narratives and the natural world, capturing human activity amidst panoramic views of landscapes.
