This dramatic image of an oversized sun with a silhouetted plane gracefully passing through conveys the transience of time. Two spires of the Triborough Bridge are centered in the composition so that all elements are in perfect pitch and symmetry. Strong lighting increases drama, and rich color exaggerates it.
This archival color photograph by fine art photographer Mitchell Funk is signed, dated and numbered 2/15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
