Dramatic golden light reflecting off a New York City skyscraper with the moon communicates more than just a document of a skyline. This image is about the aesthetic power and perhaps spiritual quality of light. The composition, with its tight cropping, is minimalist. Photographer Mitchell Funk's use of hyper-lighting is a hallmark of his work and has helped to shape the history of Color Photography for 54 years.
Signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed and printed later. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
