About the Item
Mitchell Funk's approach to the industrial world is always poetic. One would not think of a city highway to be aesthetic, but Funk seeks out beauty in unexpected places. "Motorcycle on Manhattan's East River Drive" charms the viewer's eyeballs with golden light and a tight graphic composition. Like most of his work, this image lies between abstraction and figuration.
The work is signed, dated, and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, printed later, unframed. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
