About the Item
Two men have a conversation and joke-it-up on the steps of a boarded-up store named Nicks Cleaners. The whole scene is awash in dreamy blues and reds. Absorbing the influence of both the beauty of Impressionism and the grittiness Street Photography, Mitchell tells his own street story with a sensitivity to color, design and composition.
Signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed. printed later. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
