Subject / Title : Congregation (Title). A photographic process of complex montages inspired by Matt painting, a cinematic process for creating visual effects. The artist harmoniously combines images and fragments from different sources to create intriguing representations of empty or abundant interior and exterior spaces.
This work shows a house bathed in light, emanating from a street lamp. Shadows stretch across the path, creating an atmosphere both serene and enigmatic. The dramatic sky, adorned with threatening clouds, is crossed by a flock of black birds, adding a dynamic dimension to the scene. On the horizon, the silhouette of a church rises, mysterious and distant, reinforcing the sense of contemplation. The subtle details of the surrounding landscape, with its bare trees and rugged terrain, add an almost cinematic quality to the work. Each element is carefully orchestrated to evoke an atmosphere of introspection and mystery, enticing the viewer to plunge into this universe that is both familiar and strangely captivating.
Signature : The work is signed and numbered at the bottom of the image. It will be supplied with a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
Size : H 21.26 x W 16.73 inches - H 54 x W 42.5 cm (Image with white borders).

The British artist Suzanne Moxhay, born in 1976, opens up a dreamlike world of photographs that are out of time. After studying at Chelsea College of Art and the Royal Academy Schools, she thwarted the classic codes of photography in her singular assemblages. Suzanne Moxhay’s dystopian photomontages play with notions of truth, creating spaces where fiction and fact converge.
"I get my inspiration from the sense of place in the locations I photograph and how this can trigger certain associations with other things that I have seen or experienced ; From books, films, memories, things I have witnessed. I work very intuitively in this way and it tends to be that when I start making something it begins to follow it’s own path which might not be what I intended at the outset."
At the heart of her practice, the collection of images allows her to build up a rich iconographic library. Be it of her own drawings and photographs, or visuals from contemporary or older works. She draws from these elements patiently cut out, extracted from their original context and then reassembled. To do this, the artist is inspired by cinematographic matte painting. A technique that consists of painting the set on a glass plate, around spaces left empty to integrate the action.
In the same way, Suzanne Moxhay pastes her fragments onto glass plates, superimposing the elements to recreate a new landscape or an interior with a fantastic atmosphere. This exceptionally fine work takes us to places full of narrative tension, in which we are unable to distinguish between reality and fiction.
She has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally since 2002 and her work is held in many significant public and private collections including the University of the Arts Collection, The Royal Academy of Arts, The Cooper Union New York, the FSC, the Lodeveans Collection and Oxford University. She has featured in numerous publications including The Guardian, The FT, A-N Magazine and Art World Magazine and has been profiled and interviewed on the BBC Culture Show.

Erik Pawassar's work focuses on the beauty of the disregarded or mundane object. The subjects for his striking and captivating visuals are typically set in the most ordinary environments, drawing the viewer into a charged but serene experience based on composition, palette and formal lines. Saturated in color, the nominal subjects gather a haunting and mesmerizing quality, creating a poignant pretext for the making of a formal color photograph.
Decisively capturing the traces left by humanity, Pawassar's images are filled with a sense of universal nostalgia and pay homage to the passage of time and the extinguished moment, referencing documentary and street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastian Salgado...
