"I Rise by Lifting Others" Colorful Abstract Butterfly Painting Acrylic Canvas
Located in New York, NY
The Butterfly series for Ash began as a sentiment to her late Father. Butterflies began to appear in unexplainable ways after his passing, the artist later discovered that Butterflies represent spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life - she goes on to say: "The butterfly series draws inspiration from Rivera's quote 'Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.'" After coming to the fruition that Butterflies pose as not only a symbol for beauty and rebirth, Almonte felt a feeling of deep comfort. Her passion for sharing this message of hope and renewal through her colorfully diverse canvases is achieved with resilience leaving her audience glimmering much like the inner voice and the spark of Joie de vivre that fuels her purpose in life to create. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 36 x 36 inches Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style. She is best known for her series of Chandeliers, Butterflies, and Fashion from the Seventh Avenue Design District. Almonte's award-winning works can be found in private and permanent collections around the world. She is motivated by change, compassion for others, and miraculous phenomena that can impact others for good. Her flair and admiration for fashion and art have been a staple of her life since childhood. As a young girl, she would experiment using anything she could find to make art; from tearing apart bushel baskets at her father’s fruit stand, to tearing out old magazine clippings from her mother's magazine collection; anything and everything around her could potentially be used to create. She would continue to seek out opportunities throughout her young adult years, as her love for fashion grew, allowing her to collaborate with celebrity stylists creating looks for top billboard artists, as well as apparel worn at New York Fashion Week for designers Sherri Hill...

No. 2, Cubes (Abstract Cameraless Photograph with checknboard motif, Framed)
Located in Hudson, NY
Abstract digital print on black/white photo paper 25.5 x 21.5 inches in custom black stained wood frame with black 8 ply mat and AR non glare glass Pairs well with Ref: LU2272395053 These energetic prints are digital copies of original handmade monoprints by photographer Birgit Blyth. Without the use of a camera, the artist produced the original chromoskedasic image by painting with the photographic chemicals directly onto black and white photo pager and exposing it to light. The rich black, faded gold, and crisp white tones are determined by the different chemicals used and the amount of time they are exposed to light. In this piece, Blyth painted gestural, intersecting lines to create a grid-like pattern that falls back in space. About the artist and work: Birgit Blyth is one of our most innovative and prolific photographers who works in a darkroom yet uses no camera! Blyth has been experimenting with a technique known as Chromoskedasic painting since the early ‘90s and variations on this concept have been shown at the gallery for the last 20 years. The unusual process involves the use of silver particles in black and white photographic paper to scatter light at different wavelengths when exposed. A chemist of sorts, Blyth demonstrates a thorough knowledge of how the various photographic chemicals will react when applied to paper and exposed. Each work is unique with palettes that resonate brilliant tonalities of brown, green, black, and purple. Using this technique, Blyth creates abstract crosshatching grids and most recently has developed a more gestural series of 20 x 16 inch chromoskedasic paintings that explores the ethereal qualities made possible by the unconventional material. Birgit Blyth succeeds at keeping her work fresh and cutting-edge using analog methods that are being quickly replaced elsewhere with digital technology. Artist Resume: Born: Kousted, Denmark Resident in U.S.A. since 1963 Education: Denmark and U.S.A. "Taking Time to Enjoy the Moments" Abstract Chandelier Painting on Canvas
Located in New York, NY
The Chandelier series for Ash portrays an inner mantra, that light is a fuel in which we all connect, the artist goes on to explain: "We all have a light inside of us and that light is how we connect in some realm; whether it be a mentor, a friend, a stranger, a nurse. It is this innate human connection that brings us together and for me, a chandelier represents the complexity and beauty of this and so the idea of providing this light for one another is what motivates me in this collection." Almonte is constantly developing her aesthetic, further breaking the barriers of how she applies paint onto the canvas by carefully manipulating her dried acrylic pallet. Cutting and reapplying the leftover paint onto new works of art, Almonte creates a refreshing and unique design that gives her work a new dimension and a more 3D-like feel. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 48 x 36 inches Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style.
