About the Item
Born in Porqueres, a small village in Catalonia, Llorens has lived by the lake Banyoles his entire life. Inspired by this unique body of water, Llorens’ photographs describe a unique relationship to a stunning natural phenomenon.
Capturing the limpid liquid forms of water, the skeletal outlines of autumnal trees, and glowing lights in the woodland, his real subject is the inner psyche, creating intimate and abstract self-portraits born of the inspiration that Lake of Banyoles provides.
Llorens describes this body of work as a series of moments dedicated to listening to the heartbeats of nature around him. As he photographs the natural landscape, simultaneously tumultuous and placid, so he places a mirror against his own emotional landscape.
Deep Inside III portfolio was selected during the Barcelona International Photography Awards, in 2019. Most recently Llorens’ work was exhibited at the LensCulture group show at 2023 Photo London; prior to which he exhibited as a solo artist at the Fundació Valvi in Girona, Spain, in 2022, and at the Festival Mirades, in Torroella de Montgrí, in 2021. He received 3rd place at the LensCulture Black & White Awards, in 2022.

Jaume Llorens was born in Porqueres, near Girona, Catalonia in 1966. He fell in love with photography during his teenage years having attended a course whilst at high school. Jaume set up a small laboratory in his home where he developed his own black and white prints mostly photographing the inspirational beauty of the natural world around his local lake Banyoles. University, work and family life took over, but in recent years and with the ease and accessibility of digital photography, Jaume once again returned to photography and the beauty of his native landscape. In 2014 Jaume took part in his first group exhibition. Subsequent exhibition highlights include the LensCulture group exhibition at Photo London 2023, a solo exhibition in 2022 at the Fundació Valvi in Girona, a solo exhibition at the Festival Mirades in Torroella de Montgrí in 2021 and a group show at the Valid Foto Gallery in Barcelona (OFNI Project, 2019). Awards highlights include the 3rd place winner (singles) at the LensCulture Black & White Awards 2022, the selection of his portfolio ‘Deep Inside’ at the Barcelona International Photography Awards, BIPA, 2019 and the 3rd prize of the VI National Photography Competition Canson Infinity (Spain).

Reinhard Görner, Ganymed, Palazzo Grimani, Venice
By Reinhard Görner
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Reinhard Görner, Ganymed, Palazzo Grimani, Venice, Italy.
In this monumental photograph, a sculpture depicting the Kidnapping of Ganymed is suspended in the center of the vault, decorated by lacunae. The image combines the unique geometric abstraction of the architecture with the organic form of the sculpture and the floor.
What is so unique about this artwork? Compositionally, all lines radiate to the the center of the room, where the energy is thrust upwards again by the mythical figure. The wings of Ganymed direct the eye back to the perimeter of the room, where the attention flows inwards once again. The floor radiates with an earthy ktenic energy, which compliments the vertical push of the sculpture. The result is a living, pulsing composition, set within the unusual warm classicism of this unique Venetian Palazzo.
This beautiful palace was the residence of the Doge Antonio Grimani. It is one of the most unique examples of Venetian architecture in transition from Gothic, well-rooted in the local culture, to the Renaissance.
German large-scale photographer Reinhard Görner is known for his stunning, monumental-scale photography, which combine a sense of grandness with intimacy. He was born in 1950 in Leipzig, Germany, and he lives and works in Berlin, Germany. He studied drama, german literature and sinology in Munich and Berlin, and has been photographing architecture, interiors, and public spaces since 1981.
Condition: New. Images are crisp and sharp. Images are not shown at full resolution for the protection of the artist.

Reinhard Görner with his large format architectural photographs orchestrates the monumentality of rooms.
An active architecture photographer since 1985, is a master of perspectives and precise spatial compositions, and he thus considers classical sculpture, in all of its possible facets, a special challenge.
"Görner’s photographs sometimes open the doors to another world and take the viewer with them on a journey through time. Here the palace is no longer a museum but both royal residence and a site steeped in history. The viewer does not have to share the halls with the masses of visitors; instead the images offer him exclusive impressions of the Galerie des Glaces (Hall of Mirrors) and the Galerie des Batailles (Hall of Battles) as even the king of France was probably never granted. The halls are empty of people, yet they seem to be able to unfurl their individual characters of their own accord. These places practically breathe history, and this aspect is also part of the essence captured in the photographs. King Wilhelm of Prussia was named German Emperor Wilhelm I in the Hall of Mirrors after France was defeated in 1870–1871 in the Franco-German War. The Treaty of Versailles following World War I was also signed there in 1919. In this sense, the architectural photographs of Versailles’s ceremonial rooms have an edge on Renaissance paintings; here even a sense of world history arises within the viewer – one which continues to exert an influence today". Horst Klöver
