Fielding was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied with photographers Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan; he received his BFA in 1975. He received his MFA in 1980 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he studied with photographer Kenneth Josephson.
He has photographed in such countries as Italy, Peru, Spain, Greece, Egypt, Mexico, Portugal and the United States. His work has particularly concentrated on the Italian cities of Rome and Naples, as well as Mexico City.
Of Fielding's City of Secrets, critic Vince Aletti wrote:
[Naples'] citizens, from wiseass kids in diapers to weathered old men, loom into the frame like characters out of Fellini, bursting with antic, earthy energy. Fielding confronts and embraces his subjects, building up a portrait of a place that's as visceral as it is cinematic--a true theatre of the streets.
Photography curator and collector W. M. Hunt wrote about the book:
Jed Fielding is from the old school: a photographer with vision and technique. I've been to Naples twice in my lifetime; once by ship, and, even more lastingly, through Jed Fielding's astonishing images.
At the time of a 2009 New York City exhibition of Fielding's photographs from Look at me, a New Yorker review[who?] said:
Fielding's photographs of the blind children he met at schools in Mexico City are not in the tradition of photojournalistic muckraking. Like his terrific earlier series from the streets of Naples, these images are vivacious, audacious, and in your face. His subjects are not pitiable victims; they're rambunctious, apparently happy kids at play, responding to Fielding's attention with curiosity and delight. They may be cut off from the visual world, but they relish physical contact, both with one another and with the patient photographer. The best of the work was made at close range, where that connection was most tangible, and young faces fill the frames with fragile, vivid life.

Eva Korn was born in Czechoslovakia and a Holocaust surviver, Eva emigrated to the United States in 1953 from Switzerland, where she was studying photography. Photographs she had taken in 1951 of the then-new country of Israel were exhibited in Switzerland at the World Exhibit of Photography. In 1997 28 of her 1951 black & white photographs were exhibited, along with color photographs of Israel taken in 1996, as "Envision Israel: The Land, The Heart, The People." The show traveled for 12 months through the East Bay area of California. In the U.S. she continued her work as a photographer, married the penologist Richard Ross Korn (1923-2002)
Eva Korn spent her childhood in Bratislava, Slovakia; her education; family visits to Vienna, Austria; how this became more difficult after the Anschluss in 1938; the institution of anti-Jewish laws in 1939; working illegally as a seamstress; the deportations that began in 1942; her memories of her mother and brother's deportation to Ravensbruck and Sachsenhausen; the false identity papers she was able to obtain; her arrest in January 1945; her transport to Sered concentration camp and then Theresienstadt; the conditions in Theresienstadt; her return to Bratislava at the end of the war; her immigration to Switzerland in 1947; her immigration to the United States in 1951; her life in the United States; her marriage; and her experiences with reconciliation to heal the trauma of the war. a collection of photographs by Eva Korn, will be on display throughout the festival. She later owned and directed The Cramer Gallery in Glen Rock, N.J. Krivin photographed many jazz musicians during the 1980s and 1990s, and published two books of her jazz photos, "25 Years of the Jazz Room at William Paterson University" and "Jazz Studies." Her jazz and doll portraits have been exhibited in group and solo shows, museums, university galleries, and jazz festivals. She was married for over 50 years to painter, musician, and educator Martin Krivin.
One of the few women in the field of jazz photography, JoAnn Krivin documented the professional jazz scene from the late 1970's until the late 1990's photographing close to 700 musicians. Her works have been exhibited frequently in solo shows at festivals, museums and galleries across the country. She has served as a still photographer for New Jersey Public Television and has contributed to a variety of national jazz publications. Her book, Twenty Five Years of the Jazz Room at William Paterson University, was published in 2003. Woman artist with a feminist tinge to these photographs.
