Ceccarini offers the artists the opportunity to collaborate with some of the very best models he has worked with throughout his career to create an array of spectacular images. The Artist brings his own creative universe, techniques and palette, the Model their personality and body language. The model and artist interaction is key to the process. The temporary nature of the painting on human skin is captured and immortalized through Ceccarini’s lens to create the photographic artwork. Eric sets himself apart from others by shunning technical artifice and working in natural light, outside the studio. This results in soft, velvety, almost painterly images that amaze. Eric is a Belgian artist born in 1965. He gained a degree in photography from infac, Brussels in 1987, and has since then been a fashion photographer working with many of the top houses. Chopard, Elle, Marie-Claire, L’Oréal, Levi’s, Coca Cola, Virgin, Saab, Delvaux, Lowe Lintas and Ogilvy are just some of Ceccarini’s high-profile clients. ABOUT The idyllic and playful world of The Peconic Bay in Southampton, NY dances to life in Luciana Pampalone’s first solo exhibition. Each location was scouted by Pampalone and transformed into a vintage 1930s setting by the use of her models and props. A Graphlex camera, aviator goggles, parasols, retro bathing suits and games of croquet, (just to name a few) subtly tamper with the past, breathing life back into the 1930s. Moment by moment, Pampalone encapsulates the ephemeral quality of life, bending and blending human subjects within the natural landscape. Never has a world of black and white looked so colorful. In the gallery installation, a red accent wall will emphasize the spirit and energy evoked by Pampalone’s black and white photographs. The strong compositions and delicate imagery of each photograph come together to transport us into a world of amusement and joy. “Smile”, the invitational image, let us in on the surreptitious but not-so-secret powers of Pampalone as director. The woman wielding the artist’s personal ‘30s Graphlex camera confronts the male model, embodying strength, poise and an engaging sense of playfulness. Her commanding presence draws him in until he is physically leaning towards her and becomes her subject. Strong and confident, the heroine radiates the eternal spirit of adventure. Pampalone’s love of photography started at the age of 16. She was inspired by the great artists, Helmut Newton and Deborah Tuberville...

Face
Located in San Francisco, CA
This photograph "face" c.1980 is an original gelatin silver print by famous German photographer and artist Michael Andreas Russ, born 1945. The photograph size is 10 x 14.75 inches, framed is 17.15 x 21 inches. It is framed in a wooden maple frame. It is in excellent condition. About Michael Andreas Russ. Michael Andreas Russ (born January 1945 in Berlin) is an German/American photographer, photo designer and film director. Russ' career as a photographer began in New York in the late 1960s where he photographed his fellow acting students. Self-taught, he eventually moved to his own studio off Union Square, Manhattan and connected with the local underground art scene. Photograph by Russ was published on the cover of “Art Direction Magazine of Visual Communication” with a Gertrude Stein quotation: “The composition in which we live makes the art which we see and hear” In his early years Russ focused on men's fashion magazines and erotic sequential photographic scenes for Playboy Press books. He eventually experimented with distinctive photographic techniques, turning 35mm black and white film into chemically toned, masked, solarized and hand colored, one of a kind silver gelatin prints. These 'TinTones' as Russ would call them eventually became the trademark of his work. They were published in popular fashion and lifestyle magazines and brought him international recognition in the art world. His work was published in major fashion, lifestyle and avant-garde magazines, GUNNARS, Mode International, Mode Avant Guarde, PHOTO Magazine, Zoom (photography magazine), as well as German Playboy (magazine), Photo Reporter and cover art to IL Magazine. He also contributed sequential 'sujets de chambre' to Vogue magazine His erotic postcard edition "The Compagnie" became part of the permanent collection of the Musée des arts décoratifs de Paris, an annex to the Louvre museum. Selected Exhibitions. 1980: Musee des Arts Decoratifs (Louvre Annex, Paris). "Postcard edition The Compagnie" 1983: China Club...

The Robin Rice Gallery reserves the right to adjust this price depending on the current edition of the photograph. ABOUT: In Gordon’s third exhibition, his remarkable capacity for discovery and self-described “pathological curiosity” makes for an entirely unpredictable series of photographs, while the small size of the gelatin silver prints emphasizes their detailed nature and enhances the mysterious quality generated by his choice in cameras (namely, the increasingly popular Holga film camera). Stettinius’ wry sense of humor, references to popular culture, and use of kitschy subject matter permeate the entire black and white exhibition. The invitational image, “Yoda’s Garden”, is a perfect emblem of the exhibition’s mischievously comedic representation of Americana. In this image, a scarecrow proudly stands at the center of a growing cornfield, a gingham dress wrapping its body and a mask of the popular Star Wars character “Yoda” serving as its head. Although the references to both Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz may appear staged, Stettinius’ photography is anything but. Stettinius frequently finds inspiration in road trips, generating an aesthetic with the satirical playfulness of David Graham or Ralph Meatyard. This spontaneous, anthropological approach to photography can be seen in several of the pieces in Stettinius’ collection. This is perhaps most notably found in “Fast Money...

The Robin Rice Gallery reserves the right to adjust this price depending on the current edition of the photograph. ABOUT: Ted Adams juxtaposes surrealism with the documentary art form. What differentiates Mr. Adams' work from traditional photojournalism is his keen eye for capturing the irony in the events that unfold before our eyes. It is the found objects in everyday life to which Adams is most attuned. He creates a subtle mood and visual mystery that conveys meaning not only from the image itself but also through imagining what exists just beyond the frame. “I see photography as a way of cropping the world – selectively taking things out of context – which often results in stripping the meaning out of the original subject matter, or at least making the image open to interpretation. It’s the opposite of traditional photojournalism whose intention is to create 'narrative' and context rather than discard them.” While he has exhibited artistic photography in a variety of genres, he has turned his artistic eye inward to reflect a more autobiographical tone. While some people compare his work to that of Robert Frank, Adams finds himself more and more influenced by Larry Clark whose career was built on pictures drawn from his own life and drug-addled friends rather than a specific documentary mission. The unique presentation of this collection of twenty-three silver gelatin prints enhances the voyeuristic sensibility of Mr. Adams’ work. Each photograph is jewel box in size, measuring 4” x 6” to invite the viewer in to make an intimate appraisal. The craftsmanship of the wide, dark wood frames hearkens back to late 19th-century Shaker design – yet the aesthetic is boldly contemporary, providing a strong backdrop to draw the viewer's gaze directly to the subject matter. This artisanship extends to the printing where Adams exhibits his skills in traditional darkroom processes. He shoots mostly with Leica and Nikon 35mm film cameras, preferring the archival qualities of black and white film and primitive analog functionality. In the invitational image, “Beyond” we see an abandoned building. The eye immediately is drawn to the structure’s one indication of life, a sign reading “Beyond” which glows like platinum in contrast to the forlorn setting. One has to wonder what goes on beyond the shut door. Yet the humor lies in the idea that anything in these surroundings could be in the superlative -- beyond the gritty or merely mundane. Adams' sarcasm veils an artistic integrity. What seems happenstance and simple, a road sign, a graffiti ridden wall, or a bank of phones, belies the artists uncanny ability to see the interesting in the ordinary. In a second picture, “Solitary”, we see the words “solitarily confined” sprawled across a wall. Just to the side of the wall stands a little girl. One might think of the solitary confinement in terms of a jail term or the graffiti an indictment on society. But the surprise lies with the child at play, seemingly free of any constraints at all. Born in Louisville Kentucky, Adams spent most of his adult life in Philadelphia after having moved there to work as a professional darkroom printer. In addition to artistic and documentary photography, Adams works as a multi-media artist. He curates the online Abandoned Photo Museum...
