About the Item

This original lithographic poster was created to accompany an exhibition of works by Achille Perilli at the prestigious Marlborough Gallery in Rome. A striking example of mid-20th-century Italian avant-garde design, the poster reflects Perilli’s signature exploration of geometric abstraction and dynamic, deconstructed forms. Printed in rich lithographic tones, the composition encapsulates Perilli’s fascination with instability, spatial ambiguity, and the disruption of traditional perspective. A key figure in the Italian abstract movement and a founding member of the Forma 1 group in the postwar period, Perilli challenged the visual conventions of both Constructivism and Expressionism—favoring instead a language of calculated chaos.
