ALESANDRO LJUBICIC b.1986 Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina ( Australian Citizen - Does this make me an Australian Artist ? ) As an Artist this is my attempt to display the romantic imagining of beauty. Life’s beauty is the growing journey through ups and downs and despite the challenges and negativity, flowers always attract us towards their splendour and nature by giving us happiness and beauty even if they are protected with sharp thorns. They teach us no matter what conditions are out there it is always possible to find the sunlight, water and nutrients needed to blossom. On a personal level for me flowers convey a sensation of freshness and soften in our hearts when we are sad and fatigued. They cleanse our surroundings and uplift our life mentally, spiritually and emotionally when we are feeling blue. About the artist Born in Jajce, in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ljubicic at the age of 6 moved to Australia with Mum and Dad during the civil war and from a young age enjoyed painting and being creative where he was always encourage to do what he loves. Not until the age of 18 did Ljubicic think about becoming a full time artist and it was here his journey began in 2004 where he attended the National Art School, Australia’s leading Art College. After graduating in 2007 he founded The Sydney Art Store an art supplies store as part of having access to endless amount of materials which would help him create his visions without worrying about the costs involved. Today that store is still open and running while Ljubicic exhibits both in Australia and on the international stage.
