This original screenprint diptych in colours are each hand signed in pencil by the artist with his monogram "A. C." at the lower left margins. Each are dated “1973” next to the signatures.
The respective sheets areo hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 70, next to the date.
It was published by Meissner Edition, Norderstedt (Hamburg) in 1973.
Condition: Very good condition. A minor scuff in the lower margin and along the right sheet edge. Scuffs to the surface of the ink, visible only in raking light. The red sheet with scuffing along the right sheet edge.

Antonio Calderara
Antonio Calderara is a self-taught and changeable artist. In 1954, the study of Mondrian's work led him first to the study of light and then to a progressive loss of the landscape reference, increasingly moving towards an aniconic expressive form that saw him participate in European research, mostly ones of German origin. In his autobiography, he traces the first non-figurative painting to 1959. Calderara spent most of his life in isolation near Lake Orta, most of which he spent wondering about the role of light and color in an attempt to answer the question, what is painting?
