About the Item
The piece shows a human figure in a cubist-inspired style. What looks like a mouth reaches towards the white side of the pictorial space. One arm and eye connecting to it seem to stretch out into the dark. Markings in the black side simulate inner turmoil; those on the white side are weathered, like scars or old wounds. This abstract portrait print is a single print, with the signature in the front. It is sold framed.
George Simmons is an Upstate New York artist who focuses on printmaking, painting and fine art photography. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with an MFA in studio art, Simmons exhibits regionally and has been the recipient of photography awards.
