ABSTRACT STILL LIFE

Guy MacCoy worked at the Art Students League winning a scholarship in 1930. He is important in the development of early serigraphy as an art medium. He did so under the WPA in the late 1930's. He and his wife artist Geno Pettit moved to Los Angeles in 1945. He founded the Western Serigraphy Society in Los Angeles in 1948. He and his wife were active serigraphers from the the 30's. He taught and worked in Los Angeles into the 70's. In 1970 his home, studio and worked were destroyed in a forest fire. Therefore his work is rare. Sight mat burn in margins, 1/4 inch outside the image.
