Harriet Hoult. Harriet Hoult artist’s prints and original artworks are available online with Wychwood Art. Harriet Hoult is an abstract artist, living and working in S.W. London. She works mainly in acrylic and also uses collage, mixed media and oil pastels. Her pieces concentrate on colour and form and are unique in their ability to be at once bold and bursting with energy whilst also retaining an overall delicate nature. Her work is instinctive, drawing inspiration from her local environment, nature, and a love of design and aesthetics. “I tend not to plan,” says Harriet Hoult. “I have an image in my head as a starting point and I make some marks in the direction of that original idea. Then I feel my way to what the next set of marks will be. It’s a moment-by-moment evolving process. I am inspired by the everyday, often random things that I see and experience in the world around me; the way the light makes a particular shape on a wall, a radio interview with someone I admire, a tree stump in the park. My work is my interpretation of these experiences onto paper. I am fascinated by aesthetics and exploring the visual interplay between form, space and colour.

Harriet Hoult
Harriet Hoult is a London based abstract artist, working with acrylic and mixed media on paper. Her process is intuitive and her paintings are created instinctively, evolving on the paper mark by mark. Her pieces can be seen as meditations on our relationship with life, drawing influence from both the inner and outer landscape. She explores themes such as home, boundaries, both physical and psychological, a sense of belonging, freedom and beauty. Her work aims to take us beyond the intellectual process to an underlying visceral experience. There is a sculptural element to her painting, which creates a rich sensory experience, along with a bold expression of texture, composition and color. Harriet has spent time living and working in Cornwall, which has had a strong influence on her work. She was mentored by renowned ceramicist and artist Sandy Brown. Her work has been shown in galleries, art fairs and private collections throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

By The Night is a limited edition giclee print on hahnemuhle 310gsm etching paper with hand torn edges by Carne Griffiths. The bright colours contrast the stark black background to create an impactful piece.
Originally from Liverpool, Griffiths graduated from the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone in 1995. After completing a one-year KIAD fellowship and moving to London he served an apprenticeship at the longest-established gold wire embroidery firm in the world. Here he worked as a gold wire embroidery designer for twelve years, eventually becoming the creative director. Carne produced intricate designs for the military and the film, theatre, fashion and advertising industries. His designs were used for the uniforms in the films Valkyrie, The Last King of Scotland...
