About the Item

Sightseeing is one of a group of ten prints which the artist made at Petersburg Press in 1972, each based on one of his paintings. Rosenquist’s Sightseeing 1962 oil painting on canvas, glass, and walnut is now in the St. Louis Art Museum. This print’ abstract composition features a cropped view of the words SIGHT SEEING, in bold all-capital lettering, against a background of silver and textured grey. Pink roses fill the top line of text. A frame outlines the glossy, screen printed area where the double E is defined sharply in bright orange, with a burst of thin lines in the pattern of broken glass.
