Exceptional and rare limited edition lithograph on burlap (arpillera) created after Joan Miró in 1973, designed as the portfolio cover for the “Barcelona 1972–1973” series originally published by Sala Gaspar. This piece is a standalone artwork, embodying Miró’s bold visual language and his late-career fascination with texture, color, and material innovation.
Produced in a very limited edition of only 65 examples, this work is among the rarest Miró-related editions. Its unique support — burlap — is exceptionally uncommon in fine art printmaking, making this piece especially significant. The rough textile surface enhances the depth, tactility, and sculptural quality of the design, transforming the lithograph into an object of art rather than a simple print.
Featuring vibrant blocks of red, yellow, and black, a handwritten-style title, and Miró’s signature star motif, the composition radiates the surrealist energy and poetic abstraction that define his work.
