About the Item

John Martini’s monoprints and drawings meditate on life, death, and the sins between. He presents vignettes of nightmarish visions seeped with religious references; while some blur almost to obscurity and others stay dense with resolute lines. Martini creates unsettling yet deeply moving images that entice viewers to develop their own connections and relationships to the work. John Martini (b. 1948) is a sculptor and printmaker based in Key West, Florida and Veuxhaulles-Sur-Aube, France. Martini's bronze and steel sculptures are augmented by extensive works on paper, including monoprints and drawings. Recently, John Martini has had numerous solo exhibitions at JAG Gallery, Lucky Street Gallery, The Studios of Key West, and Galerie Antoine Laurentin, among others. His works are widely represented in private and public collections, including a large installation at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey
