About the Item

Justin Pollmann "Afternoon Chrysalis" 2022 Inkjet Transfer Collage, Monotype 20"x24" inches The inkjet transfer images are made by collaging transfers of inkjet prints to the paper’s surface using a burnishing transfer process. The image comes together through a series of multiple layers, some have up to 40 layers. This print is a monotype and does not have editions. About the artist Justin Pollmann is a Brooklyn, NY based artist. Pollmann earned his BFA in Printmaking from Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas City, MO in 1997. Artist statement I have always been drawn to relationships, person to person or between a person and things. The emotional and mental space that makes up these exchanges is a fascinating part of the human experience. My current focus is trying to illustrate these connections of relationships by tapping into the ephemeral feel of a conversation, a passing communication/connection between people, places, and time.
