About the Item
Luke Gilliam has an unusual woodcut technique that he pairs with a complex object of his own creation. He uses technique to create a technical tour-de-force with the intriguing title Mnemonic Form. The central object ('form') is mostly a sphere, or orb, but also an open, aerated structure.
The largely gray palette and the sharp edges of the 'arms' or sections add a mechanical quality.
There are creases in the sheet and other minor defects. It is signed, titled, dated, and annotated 'Artist's Proof,' in pencil. In all likelihood it is scarce as is most of his work.
