About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Abandoned Texas, No Gas but Hot as Hell” is a 12.5 x 10.75 inch unique abstract landscape inkjet monoprint represented on 14 x 11 inch Awagami Bamboo paper embracing both creative photography and digital printmaking. An abandoned gas station depicted in a screen of orange tones sits in the center of this graphic print while layers of deconstructed imagery of a rural Texas roadside in contrasting hues of blue and dark sienna sit above and to the right of it. A black lawn chair superimposed within the bottom left of the print adds a bit of whimsy as thoughtfully placed spheres add playfulness to this vivid colorful pictorial composition. deGrandpre’s vast catalog of photographs are deconstructed, cropped, and layered and have become the catalyst of her artwork as she skillfully combines the recognizable with the abstract. deGrandpre’s inkjet printer becomes her press as she prints layers upon layers of ink creating unique pieces with lavish color and tone. This one of a kind print is signed and dated under the bottom right corner of the image and will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This vibrant and dynamic print will make a striking addition to any contemporary collection.
